Winerybound also gives smaller boutique and upstart wineries the ability to market themselves on a national level to reach potential customers that are unfamiliar with their wines" Truchot, co-creator with her husband, Scott, of CIOTrust, said she created the site after hearing from wine enthusiasts and industry employees about the frustration of locating new wineries and learning more about their offerings. Truchot also mentioned that wineries she had the opportunity to work with had concerns about the costs of marketing themselves to a national audience. "Based upon what I was hearing in the industry, there needed to be a site created on national level to solidify desired relationships between wineries and wine enthusiasts." Truchot said. The comprehesive site is free for the wine enthusiast and will also allow wineries to detail a portion of their information for free. Additional levels of subscription may be purchased by wineries to include wine listings, awards, and winery specific images for further brand development.
"Winerybound is about creating relationships and making both our subscribers and end-users happy. Our goal is to give each winery the opportunity to market and promote themselves on a national level while getting wine enthusiasts varying levels of information pertaining to the wineries they are interested in."
Truchot explained with the rate of winery growth in the United States along with changing sales laws in the industry, the need for this type of site was apparent.
